A SLIT FACED BALANCE...SUIT OF ARMOR

Helllllllloooooooooooo.

This is the blargy blog of the ARMOR ON THE FACE....

ITs a full suit of Armor out at the BIG DADDY'S Pawn Shop.

They are pretty incredible people out there not to mention the printers who printed the photos out for me after it was all said and done.

But interesting story, it HURT!!!

The metal dug deep into my skin on my chin leaving me in a unique amount of pain afterwords which was clearly well worth it.  People checked it out and took pictures from accross the street and applauded loudly...riproariously

The close of the day was with the bed of nails on my face at an asian banquet that was performed in silence as each item I lifted was applauded...louder and louder with each weight.

They LOVED IT....clearly...mainly...my stunning good looks and fantastic sense of humor and hip wiggling.....but never-the-less...they loved it.

What a loverly day for balancing!

The day was spent traveling with a dear friend of mine who was visiting from working with the National Guard and Balancing on my face with his funderful camera skillz.

Let me tell you, balancing is incredible.  The skill takes a while to perfect and I am continuing to develop it day by day with more practice and tests.

The Hairbrush balance is a good one to work with for improved skill.

The photos today were those of hilarity and happenstance.  I was visiting my dearest printers over at Comer's Print Shop in Oroville when one mentioned a project that her grandson? was working on.  The project involved sending a paper man in a letter to someone who will then take photos with it to send back with the man back to the child. 

Today was that paper man's lucky day!

I placed him in a clear binder and balanced him on my face.

The other photo, which is actually the first photo in the sequence was taken in Northwestern Antiquest in Oroville.

Interrupting their conversations of Jack Benny, I balanced on of the heavier and very much so more expensive portraits on my face.  They absolutely loved it!!! And I enjoyed the conversation of these neat ol' people.

Getting Buzzed

Oooh Yes I am...buzzing with Activity

DEATH DEFYING STUNTS!!!!

OHHH YEAH!!!!

What I do, risks my life on a daily basis.  I put my life on the line for your entertainment and somehow you all manage to love me for it.  Thank you.

Today's escapade was many days in the making because it's not like everyone has a buzz saw lying about in thier garage (other than the select few magicians and carpenters)

It didn't weight much more than 20 lbs at the most but the worry was the weight of the saw and the sharpness of the blade would cause bleeding on my face. 

This being said, I sliced up a loverly sock and placed it on my chin like a poorly made guard and placed the blade upon it.  BRILLAINT!

Other than this blade, I am in the training process for the WORLD RECORD!

Today's work involved working out and difficult small control balances including hairbrushes.

What many people don't realize is that the SMALLER and object is...the more DIFFICULT it is to balance.  A light toothpick is more difficult than a Sofa.

Speaking of Sofa, coming up is the Sofa Balance.  The goal shift with the 1000 likes because...lets be honest...1000 likes for a sofa is asking a bit much now.  It is only a sofa.

The Standing Ovation and the Balanced

Yesterday (3-14-12) was a curiously fun day.  

I got to perform my traditional show of juggling and balancing feats for a large group of people in a lovely building!

It's the neighborhood church in chico, california (looks like a golden golfball fallen from an interstellar game of golf where you putt the ball into the black hole)

Curious note: 3 time winner of interstellar golf was found three earth days ago to have been using a-steroids.

(sorry for the terrible pun, i've been on a high of puns lately, can't get enough of them)

So On with the story!

Later on in the evening after the performance, I got a lovely chance to take our trapeze rid and balance one of the leg extensions on my face!  Nick (the trapeze artist) held the pole up as he stood on the ladder and I lifted the pole onto my chin.

It was an excellent balance, went off without a hitch and get a great taste for height!

Well I have got some new things coming up! So watch out for it!

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN BALANCE??

Well, clearly I can! Opaquely I can too! When it's blurry I have a harder time of it.

Past two days of balancing have been incredibly fun including the iconic balancing of a small chiild on my chin!  Princess Olivia from the Kent Family Magic Circus volunteered to help me out with the little stunt and it went off without a hitch...and without a net.

Will Smith was unavailable to show up and Anette was gone with the band.

Let me see here, so Sunday had a gig at a home in my hometown which was absolutely delightful! The folks out there loooved it and I performed my heart out....no i really did, it was laying there beating on the ground.    People loved it!

They clapped and hollered!

*YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY*

Today was spent balancing objects on my face as well.

The Oroville Rescue Mission Thrift Store allowed me to balance a table on my chin (reluctantly).

But at the end, the chuckles and amazement were evident.

The lovely people at Comer's Print Shop in Oroville, Ca are amazing!!! 

By amazing I mean insane, and by insane I mean the greatest type of people on the planet ever.

Go visit them and tell a joke, they have a photo of me posted up there!

THINGS I WANT TO BALANCE (BED/DRAWERS/BOOKSHELF)

So today was all about random little balanced and things I want to balance someday!

The first shot you'll see there is taken at a special health care center and that on my face is a leg/foot brace.

Below that is one of the couches I was looking at for the sofa challenge, definitely a beautiful one to balance!! (these are all at the salvation army!) Below that is the drawer and the bookshelf that i would love to balance on my face one day for everyone to see.

The Good Earth Coffee and Tea Shop have wonderful people that work there! The service is excellent and their staff is friendly.  (Apparently everything there is tasty too!)  

Today I balanced the coffee table on my face for them and gave them a signed image of beautiful me balancing it on my face.  The people loved it all, that is all 8 of them who were there to enjoy it.  When you get the chance, stop in and check out the photo for yourself!

Going to try to break 3 world records this year and will tell you all about it later as the time gets closer!

Oh! Fun time at Harrison Stadium in Oroville, Ca.  Balanced and Juggled Discus! YES!

So today was all about getting Jugglin Jim Kent into every shop in oroville! Get pics of every shot of Jim into each shop with the goal of lookin good and having fun and reaching people on a daily basis.

HALLO! So here is the latest on the balancing skillages of Jugglin Jim Kent!

Though I realize I am truly the man with the STEEL CHIN...THE IRONCHIN!

Well yesterday I balanced a refrigerator on my face! That's right! On me own little chin!

Now many people ask...is it hard to balance these things on my face? I tell them yes.  

It is a boat load of hard work and exercise to achieve such beauty.

Jugglin Jim is a full chinned phenomena that the world is going to enjoy as he breaks full records and is genuinely hilarious in all of his balances.

I Balanced something ludicrously heavy today, and it was AGAINST ALL ODDS! At least everyone there thought it was daft to build a castle on a swamp!....No in this case everyone thought it was daft to put this metal girder/pole of sorts on my face to balance.  It must have been a .375 aluminum or steel tubing that tapered from  5" down to 2" in diameter.  On the Bottom, a solid .5" metal plate with a hole in the center leading to the pole.
I balanced this on my face in the wind at Las Plumas High School in Oroville, Ca today.  Here even my own brother doubted my skill because it was "too hard/heavy"...clearly the "Steel Chin of Jim" was able to take this on with no problem.....though the adrenaline rush was overpowering afterwords.

Side note: Every time I balance something big and new on my face I go through a rush.  After three tries though, the rush is gone and it is pure art.  Here is my mind:


Attempt 1: Hoolllly smokes...I am actually going to do this!...I can do this fo sho, what are you talkin about willis! Okay heerre we go...DANG IT THAT'S A LITTLE HEAVIER THAN EXPECTED...OOp...got it....gooottt iittt...oh look the WIND...how I LOOOVE the wind....why now??? OKay now...heeerre we go, couple seconds in...doing okay! Oh look they are clapping! Yaay...now to get this off without dying!

Attempt 2: Here we go...here we go again...racing through my brain...and I just can't escaaaaape...so how did I do this again, Ah, gotcha center of balance iisss..HERE....and uuuuupppp...YOISHO! HAI! Up! ...stiilll heavy....why??? oh now the wind...waiiiit nope...nope...nope..doooon't fall! Ah! There we go, and easy down...not killing anyone....where's the ibu for my back??

Attempt 3: Ah again...perfect. UUUPP...center of balance...Oh look at my muscles form this angle...dang they look good.  hey ladies...*raise eyebrows* *flex* "i...i..i..i work out" and BAM! Up, arrrmmms out! Pause, hold, wait for applause...wiggle hips....wiggle hips again...okkay stop..this is a family show.  Annnd back down...wave and bow at adoring fans.

You see, progressively easier with each try.

THE LATEST!

100 items on my face not to be posted here because it would take literally forever to view them all but I have put the all into a video!  That was a ridiculous non-sentence. 

I will post the video here as well as on Youtube and Facebook.  My dear friend Lukas and I went out on the town to gather up a bunch of shots to see what I could balance on my face.  The total number of items we balanced turned out to be over 100 in the small time we were out in the world.

We want to thank the people at Wal Mart for not throwing us out and same to the people at Big 5.
